Job title: Technical Expert – Harbour Master, River Module Section, Programme Department
Nature of engagement: Volunteer contract
Duration: From January 2025 until the end of the project in December 2027, or earlier, depending on volunteer availability, but no less than December 2025. 

The Harbour Master will play a crucial role within the River Module for the World Scout Jamboree 2027, developing and managing the onshore environment and infrastructure for sailing activities. What you should expect

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage all harbours and their infrastructure to ensure smooth sailing activities during the Jamboree. 
  • Coordinate with local maritime authorities and rescue services, ensuring proper use of harbours leased for the event. 
  • Make crucial decisions related to activity schedules and adaptations due to weather conditions. 
  • Supervise programme leaders, search and rescue team leaders, flotilla commodores. 
  • Collaborate closely with the training leader and ensure skippers have adequate rest areas. 
  • Provide navigational and meteorological services to flotilla commodores.

This position is open only to candidates from Poland. Applicants from Poland should meet the following requirements: 

  • Active membership in the Polish Scouting & Guiding Association (ZHP). 
  • Completed leader’s service in the previous year, with an opinion from the relevant Regional Commissioner or Chief Commissioner. 
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
