The Polish Scouting & Guiding Associati0n (ZHP) works closely with their partners in the local, regional and national authorities. Many officials, including the Mayor of the City of Gdańsk, has joined this year’s edition of the World Scout Jamboree. On 11 August meeting of the Coordination Committee for the World Scout Jamboree 2027 has been held in Seoul with participation of key stakeholders of the Jamboree. Earlier, the leadership of ZHP and Polish officials met with the chairperson of the World Scout Committee Andy Chapman and WOSM Secretary General Ahmad Alhendawi to wrap-up experience from the World Scout Jamboree 2023.
The Polish Council of Ministers has taken a key decision regarding cooperation in the organisation of the 26th World Scout Jamboree in Gdansk in 2027, strengthening the existing commitment of the Polish authorities to ensure an accessible and safe event.
The Resolution of the Council of Ministers on this matter was made at the request of Professor Piotr Gliński, Chairman of the Committee for Public Benefit and after a positive opinion of the Committee for Public Benefit.
On the last day of the 25th World Scout Jamboree in Seoul, information about the resolution was delivered to WOSM representatives. The information was conveyed by Wojciech Kaczmarczyk, Secretary of the Public Benefit Committee, who was present in Seoul.
In connection with the adopted resolution, the Council of Ministers undertook to appoint a plenipotentiary and a team responsible for analysing the legal, technical and economic-financial conditions for supporting the preparation of the World Scout Jamboree and to provide and coordinate such support. The Plenipotentiary and the team will monitor the progress of preparations and carry out other tasks related to the preparation and implementation of the World Scout Jamboree, as defined by the Council of Ministers or the Prime Minister.
Representatives of the host organisation of the World Scout Jamboree – Związek Harcerstwa Polskiego – and representatives of the Pomeranian Voivode, the Marshall of the Pomeranian Voivodship and the Mayor of the City of Gdańsk will be invited to participate in the team.
