Job title: Co-lead of the Meadow module, Programme Department Jamboree Planning Team
Nature of engagement: Volunteer contract
Duration: From October 2024 until the end of the project in December 2027 or earlier, depending on volunteer availability, but no less than December 2025. 

Department description:
The Programme Department plans the programme framework for the World Scout Jamboree 2027. This framework is based on the programme proposal prepared as part of the ZHP Bid presented at the 2021 World Scout Conference. The Meadow module will focus on Spiritual Development and Cultural Diversity, contributing to various educational objectives, including self-exploration, self-development, embracing Nature and technology, embracing diversity, and fostering communication and collaboration across generations, cultures, and religions. 

What you should expect

Responsibilities: 

  • Co-lead the planning and execution of the Meadow module, focusing on Spiritual Development and Cultural Diversity. 
  • Develop a comprehensive programme aligned with the Jamboree’s objectives, ensuring activities are age-appropriate, safe, and educational. 
  • Liaise with suppliers and partners to procure necessary equipment and materials. 
  • Train volunteers on safety procedures and activity specifics. 
  • Oversee the programme staff during the execution phase, ensuring safety and addressing any issues that arise. 
  • Promote the values of the Scouting movement, demonstrating leadership and a commitment to inclusivity.

Background Experience: 

  • Experience in managing a team within Scouting or similar organisations. 
  • Positive track record in creating and conducting educational activities, especially those promoting spiritual and cultural diversity. 
  • Familiarity with Scouting practices at both national and international levels. 

Formal Requirements:

Applicants from Poland should meet the following requirements: 

  • Active membership in the Polish Scouting & Guiding Association (ZHP). 
  • Completed leader’s service in the previous year and an opinion of the relevant Regional Commissioner or Chief Commissioner (Komendant Hufca / Komendant Chorągwi / Naczelnik ZHP). 
  • Positive experience in projects at least at the regional level (domestic). 
  • Ability to communicate freely in spoken and written English. 

Applicants from abroad should meet the following requirements: 

  • Active membership in one of the organisations belonging to the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM). 
  • An endorsement from the International Commissioner. 
  • Positive experience in projects at the international level. 
  • Ability to communicate freely in spoken and written English.
