Nature of engagement: Volunteer contract

Duration: From January 2025 until the end of the project in December 2027.

The Jamboree Site Department is tasked with the spatial planning of the World Scout Jamboree site on Sobieszewo Island in Gdansk.

The Jamboree Site Department will coordinate the preparation of the site plan, in collaboration with the Jamboree architect and industry specialists, and will agree on a plan for the built, run and decommissioning phases of the Jamboree Site. The Jamboree Site will be prepared in accordance with WOSM guidelines and consider solutions related to the Jamboree Organization’s environmental obligations. Water, Power, Network, Waste, Warehouse, Tents and Site Layout are the focus areas for the Jamboree Site Department.

What you should expect

As an IST Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the International Service Team (IST) members assigned to the Jamboree Site Department are well-trained, welcomed, and appreciated. You will be responsible for their orientation, ongoing support, and overall experience. You will work with all the Sections in the Department to develop and implement training programs for IST members, ensuring they are well-prepared for their roles, and coordinate the onboarding process to make sure they feel welcomed and integrated into the team. Additionally, you will provide ongoing support and guidance throughout the Jamboree, foster a positive and inclusive environment, collaborate with others for seamless integration, and monitor and address any issues or concerns to ensure IST members’ well-being and satisfaction.

Applicants from Poland for this role should meet the following requirements:

· membership of the Polish Scouting & Guiding Association (ZHP)

· completed leader’s service in the previous year and an opinion of the relevant Regional Commissioner or Chief Commissioner

· positive experience of projects at least at regional level (domestic)

· ability to communicate freely in spoken and written English

 

Applicants from abroad for this role should meet the following requirements:

· membership of one of the organisations belonging to the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM)

· a favourable opinion from their International Commissioner

· positive experience of major events at international level

· ability to communicate freely in spoken and written English
