Job title: Lead Food Houses Section, Food Services Department (2 positions)

Duration: From June 2025 until the end of the project in December 2027
Department description: The mission of the Department is to provide Internationally diverse cultural experiences including nutritious, diverse, and sustainable food options alongside Jamboree appropriate entertainment that caters to the needs of all Jamboree participants, visitors, IST & Staff while promoting the principles of healthy living and environmental stewardship.
The lead for Food Houses will support the Co-heads of the food services department and where appropriate work with the other Leads within the food services department to deliver a quality, nutritionally balanced, safe and affordable food House experience to all Jamboree participants, visitors, IST & staff
Responsibilities
· Ensure the outlined vision and strategy for the Food House model is implemented and delivered safely, nutritionally, within budget and on time at the Jamboree
· Ensure the Food House functions have the necessary resources, including manpower, equipment, facilities, resources, services and ingredients, through effective cross collaboration with other departments and suppliers as required.
· Manage IST assigned to the department by ensuring all appropriate training is completed, job roles assigned and schedules produced and are adhered to so as to effectively cover the responsibilities of the department
· Support the co-heads of the FDS in managing the relationship with all food and equipment suppliers and service providers involved in Food house provision, ensuring adherence to the contractual requirements and quality standards at all times
· Implementing measures to reduce food waste, promote sustainable sourcing, and minimize the environmental impact of the food houses
· Manage the suppliers providing the food supply to the food houses to ensuring a consistent and adequate supply of diverse food items is available as required by each food house
· Establish and implement a process for food houses to order food for their service
· Working with the FDS Lead for HSEQ, design and implement strict standards to ensure the safety and hygiene of food items available in the markets and the processes for participants to follow.
· Work cross departmentally with the transport department to design and arrange delivery of supplies into the markets, in accordance with the planned menus in the food houses and site safety protocols
· Ensure all food houses adhere to the local legal requirements in respect of food and entertainment licensing laws and obligations
Commitments
· Work closely with the co-heads of the food services department, other members of the Food services department and where appropriate, other members of the jamboree planning team to ensure effective, well organised and orderly markets/hubs and subcamp catering facilities
· Support the co-heads of the FDS to manage the design and set-up of the participant dining function within the FDS Department, in terms of team members and necessary resources
· Attend Jamboree meetings as required – either in-person (up to 2 per year) and virtually, several times per year, increasing as we move towards delivery of the event.
· (if necessary) Attend any additional jamboree meetings virtually as required
· Follow up promptly to communication by email and Slack
· Have multiple hours available during the week on multiple days. The workload will increase in the run up to the event.

Knowledge and skills
· Scouting Knowledge: Familiarity with scouting principles and experience in Scout events is highly desirable.
· Management skills: Excellent organisational and management skills.
· Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with a diverse team.
· Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex logistical challenges. High attention to details.
· Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively as a coordinator, sharing responsibilities and decision-making within the Food Services Department’s team.
· Knowledge of Outlook 365, MS Word, Excel, SharePoint operation
Background Experience
· Professional Experience: Proven ability to manage retail/catering operations and associated relationships either commercially or at large scale scouting events
· Leadership Experience: Proven ability in leading teams, preferably in a scouting or event management context
· Community Building: Demonstrated ability in organizing activities and events that promote interaction and a sense of belonging.
· Experience in Scout events is highly desirable, especially in the field of supplier operations/food services.

· active membership in the Polish Scouting & Guiding Association (ZHP)
· completed leader’s service in the previous year and an opinion of the relevant Regional Commissioner or Chief Commissioner (Komendant Hufca / Komendant Chorągwii / Naczelnik ZHP)
· positive experience of projects at least at regional level (domestic)
· ability to communicate freely in spoken and written English
