Role Description

Job title: Member, Technical Support Section

Nature of engagement: Volunteer contract

Duration: From January 2025 until the end of the project in December 2027

The Technical Support Section(TSS) is a part of the Knowledge Management and Transfer Department. TSS is responsible for the administration and management of the internal Jamboree Information Technology systems, including Microsoft 365 (M365), Slack, JIRA and other systems.

What you should expect

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of the core Jamboree Systems (M365, Slack, Jira)
  • Developing JIRA for Jamboree Systems (currently helpdesks and recruitment)
  • Supporting the Jamboree Planning Team (JPT) and stakeholders

Commitments:

  • 2 hours per week, this will mainly be monitoring the helpdesk tickets on a rota with other members of TSS
  • Focused time to develop / support / update either PowerAutomate or JIRA workflows
  • 2/3 in person meetings per year, these are normally held in Poland
  • Ad-hoc meetings as required to discuss progress

Applicant Profile

Knowledge and skills:

  • High level of competence in M365 administration
  • Either / Both of the below
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft PowerAutomate – flow creation and management that includes operations on SharePoint, Outlook, Entra ID, Forms, Word etc.
    • Good knowledge of Atlassian Jira – project creation, configuration and administration, including Jira Service Management, workflow configuration, permissions, fields, screen configuration, automation.
  • Ability to understand complex systems and translate that to less technical people
  • Ability to work with volunteers and staff of the organization’s international structures
  • Ability to collaborate and build a positive relationship with colleagues
  • Ability to work as a part of a group or alone
  • Integrity and a strong sense of ethics in all actions and decisions

Background Experience

  • 5+ Years experience in IT administration and support
  • Experience of working in a multicultural team

Applicants from Poland should meet the following requirements:

  • active membership in the Polish Scouting & Guiding Association (ZHP)
  • completed leader’s service in the previous year and an opinion of the relevant Regional Commissioner or Chief Commissioner (Komendant Hufca / Komendant Chorągwi / Naczelnik ZHP, zgodnie z przydziałem służbowym)
  • a recommendation from the relevant Regional International Representative (pełnomocnik komendanta Chorągwi ds. zagranicznych)
  • positive experience of projects at least at regional level (domestic)
  • ability to communicate freely in spoken and written English

Applicants from abroad should meet the following requirements:

  • Active membership in one of the organisations belonging to the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM)
  • a favourable opinion from the International Commissioner
  • positive experience of projects at international level
  • ability to communicate freely in spoken and written English
