Title: Plaza Programme Lead, Programme Department
Nature of engagement: Volunteer contract
Duration: From November 2024 until the end of the project in December 2027 

The Plaza Programme will offer a wide variety of activities daily, providing a space for participants to explore on their own, without the need for full patrol participation. Central to the Plaza will be the Faith and Beliefs Zone, National Tents showcasing cultural diversity and progress on the Sustainable Development Goals, and the Equality Area, promoting inclusion. Partner organizations, such as WOSM or NGO that scouting cooperate with, will have dedicated tents, alongside food houses and a Scout Shop, creating a vibrant and educational atmosphere. 

What you should expect

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the planning and execution of the Plaza Programme, coordinating the National Tents, WOSM Tents, Partner Tents, and the Equality Zone. 
  • Develop a comprehensive programme aligned with Jamboree objectives, ensuring activities are educational, age-appropriate, and safe. 
  • Liaise with suppliers and partners to procure necessary equipment and materials. 
  • Train volunteers on safety procedures and activity specifics. 
  • Oversee programme staff during the Jamboree, ensuring safety, and addressing any issues. 
  • Promote Scouting values, demonstrating leadership, inclusivity, and teamwork.

  • Knowledge of Scouting practices at both national and international levels. 

Formal Requirements

Applicants from Poland should meet the following requirements: 

  • Active membership in the Polish Scouting & Guiding Association (ZHP). 
  • Completed leader’s service in the previous year, with an opinion from the Regional Commissioner or Chief Commissioner. 
  • Positive experience in projects at regional level. 
  • Ability to communicate freely in spoken and written English. 

Applicants from abroad should meet the following requirements: 

  • Active membership in one of the organisations belonging to the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM). 
  • A favourable opinion from the International Commissioner. 
  • Positive experience in projects at international level. 
  • Ability to communicate freely in spoken and written English.
