Job title: Technical Expert, Kaleidoscope Module Section, Programme Department
Nature of engagement: Volunteer contract
Duration: From January 2025 until the end of the project in December 2027 or earlier, depending on volunteer availability, but no less than December 2025. 

The Kaleidoscope Module of the Programme Department for the World Scout Jamboree 2027 is dedicated to fostering personal development among participants aged 14-17. Through engaging activities focused on the five elements of self—Body, Mind, Spirit, Community, and Environment—we aim to promote a balanced lifestyle and embody the values of Scouting. 

What you should expect

Responsibilities: 

  • Design engaging activities (games, crafting, lessons, workshops) that are: 
    • Safe and age-appropriate for 14-17-year-old Scouts. 
    • Cross-culturally considerate and educational. 
    • Fun, engaging, and thematically coherent. 
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure activities align with Jamboree objectives. 
  • Test activities, report results, and revise based on feedback. 

Applicant Profile

Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Strong creative thinking and design skills. 
  • Ability to innovate existing activities and create new, engaging ones that incorporate educational concepts. 
  • Proficiency in writing clear instructions and conducting risk assessments. 
  • Capability to work independently and contribute effectively to a team in a multicultural environment. 
  • Good time management skills, with an understanding of delivery schedules and deadlines. 

Background Experience: 

  • Proven experience in developing educational and engaging programs for youth. 
  • Familiarity with self-development methodologies and Scouting values. 
  • Experience in leading activities in diverse settings, with an emphasis on cultural sensitivity. 
  • A willingness to draw and utilize creative expression, even at a beginner level. 

Formal requirements

Applicants from Poland should meet the following requirements 

  • Active membership in the Polish Scouting & Guiding Association (ZHP).  
  • Completed leader’s service in the previous year and an opinion of the relevant Regional Commissioner or Chief Commissioner.  
  • Positive experience of projects at least at regional level (domestic). 
  • Ability to communicate freely in spoken and written English.  

Applicants from abroad should meet the following requirements 

  • Active membership in one of the organisations belonging to the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM).  
  • A favourable opinion from the International Commissioner. 
  • Positive experience of projects at international level. 
  • Ability to communicate freely in spoken and written English.
