FIRST OPEN CALL

The XXVI World Scout Jamboree will take place in Poland in July/August 2027, on the Sobieszewska Island in Gdańsk. The right to organise the Jamboree was entrusted to ZHP by the World Scout Conference on 29 August 2021.

We invite leaders from WOSM Member Organisations to cooperate in the planning and delivery of the XXVI World Scout Jamboree – as part of the Jamboree Planning Team (JPT).

The current call is for the following roles:

  • Programme Coordinator “We are all hosts”
  • Head of the “Safe from Harm” Team
  • Technical Support Coordinator
  • Head of People Department
  • Head of Communications Department
  • Head of Programme Department

We anticipate that further invitations – to identify the heads of further departments on the Jamboree Planning Team – will be issued in the first half of 2023, with a wider invitation to the Jamboree Planning Team planned for autumn 2023. Given the experience of previous organisers of the World Scout Jamboree, it is estimated that at the peak of preparations, the Jamboree Planning Team will consist of more than 1,300 people from at least 40 countries around the world.

For more on the concept and programme theme of the XXVI World Scout Jamboree 2027, visit www.jamboree2027.org.

We are committed to making nominations on the basis of competence, through a fair and open process, with due regard to equality and diversity. We are committed to ensuring that it includes a reasonable number of qualified persons under 30 years of age and that its composition reflects an equitable representation of men and women.

DISCOVER MORE ABOUT THE HOST TEAM

We have decided to enumerate the most important capabilities and resources of ZHP that may strengthen the position of our NSO as a host of the 26th World Scout Jamboree:

  • A well trained and highly motivated cross-generation group of leaders working on preparing ZHP’s bid to host the World Scout Jamboree, ready to kick it off and implement;
  • High understanding among the members of the ZHP Leadership and key volunteers of the World Scout Jamboree concept and deep operational knowledge how to plan and deliver a large-scale scout event;
  • Governmental support for the development of Scouting in Poland (adopted by the Council of Ministers by Resolution No. 138/2018 from 2 October 2018 – “Governmental Programme for Development Support for Scouting Organisations in the years 2018-2030”);

MORE OVER

  • An already outlined site for the Jamboree to be set in Gdansk, Wyspa Sobieszewska, stipulated in an agreement between ZHP and the City of Gdansk;
  • The City of Gdansk authorities demonstrate deep understanding of the idea of World Scout Jamboree and a social change it brings. Good co-operation between the City and ZHP in preparation for the ZHP National Jamboree 2018 and the European Jamboree 2020® guarantees a high level of engagement and support for the 2027 World Scout Jamboree;
  • Majority of investments to prepare Wyspa Sobieszewska for hosting such large scale scout events has been already done, with a total amount of 90,000,000 PLN involved from Gdansk and national budgets. A new bridge to the island, main roads, connections to water and sewage systems and ground works have been completed.
  • Already introduced on the basis of the UE’s Schengen Visa Code, fast-track visa regulations for the Jamboree Participants and a visa fee waiver for those below 26 years of age;
  • Good financial situation of ZHP. Past difficulties with membership fees were overcome resulting in improved and stable finances. Stable financial condition of ZHP, allowing for comfortable preparation and smooth execution of the 26th World Scout Jamboree.
